An illustrated talk delivering 125 years of change at an iconic Inverness building will take place virtually next week telling of the importance of the former Midmills College.
The building, which now hosts the Wasp’s creative art studios, has been fully refurbished to deliver the Highlands first major creative hub.
The talk, which forms the second part of the Wasp’s Heritage Programme, will be delivered via Zoom and Facebook Live on Thursday July 23 at 3pm.
Project architect Stuart MacKellar of LDN Architects will take the audience on the virtual tour delving into the principal interior spaces and portraying their changes over the years on the iconic B-listed building.
Mr MacKellar said it is with “great privilege” his firm are assisting by transforming “the jewel in the crown that is the former Inverness Royal Academy”.
He added: “Having witnessed first-hand the effects that the initial phase of development has had on the Highlands’ creative community, we are set on ensuring that the second and final phase adds to what has already been achieved, whilst conserving one of Inverness’s finest architectural pieces.
“We look forward to sharing what we have learnt about the building’s past, its present state and our future vision in the upcoming talk hosted by Wasps.”
