Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a crash on the Black Isle which killed a young woman.
The victim, who has not been named by police,is believed to be in her 30s.
She was driving a Toyota Yaris on the B9169 Culbokie to Muir of Ord road at Dunvournie, when the accident happened at 11.30pm last night.
It is understood that the woman was heading west when her vehicle left the road and collided with a tree on a bend close to the route’s junction with the A9 Inverness-Thurso road.
The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours while police carried out investigations.
Several bouquets had been left at the scene yesterday.
One person had written “a great loss and a beautiful person” while another said: “gone but not forgotten”
Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
