Inverness Museum and Art Gallery has bounced back following the Covid-19 pandemic with more than 200 visitors during opening week.
The cultural centre reopened the doors to visitors last Tuesday for the first time since March as part of High Life Highland’s bounceback campaign.
Curators have now revealed a total of 259 people visited the city attraction on Castle Wynd during opening week, bringing capacity up to 67%.
As doors open for a second consecutive week, officials have spoken of their delight at being able to reopen the doors to visitors to the city.
Lesley Junor, High Life Highland Operations Manager, said: “Our first priority is always the safety of our staff and customers allowing them to work and visit in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere as close to business as usual as we can manage.
“We have introduced an online booking system which helps to manage queueing times and the first week has seen us welcome 259 visitors to Inverness Museum and Art Gallery which is around 67% of the capacity available.
“Our staff are delighted to be able to welcome back customers and have worked extremely hard behind the scenes to make it possible, customers have adapted extremely well so far, and feedback has been very positive.”
Customers are required to pre-book a time slot to avoid congestion at the entrance.
The museum will be open Tuesday to Saturday each week from 10:30am to 4:00pm with last entry at 3:00pm.
