Drink and drugs safety will be high on the agenda at an event being run for pupils of Millburn Academy, Inverness.
The multi agency information sharing event about teenagers being as safe as possible in the choices they make is being held on Tuesday June 24.
The event, from 6-8pm, will bring together parents, carers and professionals from a wide range of agencies who work with young people, providing the opportunity to share and discuss important information relating to online safety, alcohol and drugs awareness, First Aid and sexual health.
Representatives from Police Scotland, Skills Development Scotland, Highlife Highland, Crew 2000, the Highland Drug and Alcohol Partnership, Resolve, British Red Cross, Action for Children, Inverness Street Pastors, Health and Brook Advisory will be taking part. The Millburn Academy pupil support team will also be available throughout the evening.
Deputy head Kerry Sinclair said: “We hope many parents and carers will come along to visit the information stalls, taking the opportunity to speak to the wide range of professionals who will be attending.
“Getting so many people together at the one event is a great way to not only share information about working with young people and making contacts, but it is also an ideal time to get questions answered by people dealing with issues on a daily basis.
“The event has been jointly planned with Chris McCormick of the Youth Action Team and we’ve been really delighted with the response from partner agenciess and from their willingness to contribute to this important event. I’m sure it will be very helpful and I would encourage as many people as possible to come along. Everyone is welcome.”
