A new charity shop has opened in the centre of Inverness to help raise money to support the families of young people with additional needs.
The Chip+ (Child In The Highlands Information Points) store has opened in Academy Street this week to help raise funds for their heavily used support service.
The shop is filled with a great value selection of pre-owned books, family clothing, jewellery, children’s toys and a wonderful crystal glass collection.
The service, which has a drop-in office at the Birnie Child Development Centre at Raigmore Hospital, provides a telephone support service, training, info packs and face-to-face help as well as a lending library of support books. The service is free of charge.
Core users of Chip+ are families who require support during difficult times, and many who feel isolated in dealing with issues surrounding child development.
The shop is open daily from 10am to 6pm until June 14 at the Community Charity Shop in Academy Street, and will be run by several enthusiastic volunteers of this local charity.
The helpline for free advice is 01463 711189 and more information can be found on the Chip+ website at www.chipplus.org.uk.
