Two popular Inverness bars have closed after staff tested positive for coronavirus.
Johnny Foxes in Bank Street has cancelled all of its bookings to allow for a deep clean to be carried out after a staff member tested positive.
A statement on the bar’s Facebook page said the person on their team who tested positive had not been on the premises for several days but that they were closing the bar and the adjoining nightclub The Den until further notice.
The statement said: “We are currently carrying out a deep clean of the entire premises and awaiting contact with the track and trace team.
“We will open again as soon as it is 100% safe to do so.”
The Heathmount Hotel in Kingsmills Road is in a similar situation.
A notice has been placed on its front door telling customers that a positive Covid-19 test from a part-time staff member has resulted in its closure for 48 hours.
A statement on the bar’s website said: “Following a report of a positive Covid-19 test by a part-time staff member the Heathmount is voluntarily closed for 48 hours to conduct a thorough deep clean.
“NHS Protect and Highland Council are aware. We plan to re-open at midday on Saturday.
“The safety of our staff and customers is the absolute priority and we continue to follow all guidelines.”
