An Inverness hotel has closed after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19.
The Chieftain Hotel on Milburn Road has said it has taken the “difficult but correct” decision to close as a precautionary measure.
In a statement on social media, the hotel said: “We were made aware today that a member of the back of house staff who hasn’t been on shift since earlier in the week has tested positive for Covid-19
“The member immediately informed us and instantly self-isolated.

“We are currently carrying out a deep clean of the premises, have been in contact and working with the environmental health team and awaiting further instruction from the track tracing team.
“The safety of our staff and customers is our top priority at all times.
“We have been reading and working with the Highland Council’s regulations and advice.
“In the meantime, we are all grateful for your understanding and support.”
