Inverness’s first Buddhist centre has opened in the heart of the city.
The Triratna Highlands Buddhist group has transformed a once bustling office suite into a place of relaxation and calm.
More than 50 people attended the official launch in Ballantyne House on Academy Street on Saturday.
One of the group’s newest members, Aimee Stewart, cut the ribbon and lit candles on the centre’s shrine, which includes a large stone Buddha.
Youngsters played with bubbles while the opening ceremony took place.
A spokeswoman for the centre, said: “The centre will be above all a place where anyone can come along to learn about the Buddhist teachings and to meditate and share in friendship.”
