A ward at Raigmore Hospital remains closed as two more patients are confirmed to be suffering from norovirus.
Tests have shown that four people on ward 6C have the winter vomiting bug.
In total 11 patients have exhibited symptoms of the virus, which causes diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.
A number of staff have been affected and are recovering at home.
A spokeswoman for NHS Highland said yesterday they could offer no time for the ward reopening.
She said: “As we still have symptomatic patients on the ward we are unable to start a deep clean as we need the ward to be symptom free for 48 hours.
“Again we are asking that visitors keep visiting to an absolute minimum and we would also ask that the public help us to minimise the spread by not visiting the hospital if they or someone you live with has symptoms.
“Please wait until you have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours, as you may still be contagious, even if you feel well, and to wash your hands regularly with soap and water, especially after using the toilet and before eating. “
