A man was rescued from a burning property in South Kessock this afternoon.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the ground floor flat on Rosehaugh Road and rescued the occupant from the bedroom.
The man was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken to Raigmore Hospital for checks.
Emergency services were called to the flat shortly after 4.30pm and had the fire extinguished by 5pm.
Three appliances from Inverness, along with police officers and an ambulance.
Incident commander, group manager John Macdonald, said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were able to enter the flat relatively quickly and rescue the casualty.
“He was then passed into the care of the ambulance service and a single hose-reel was used to extinguish the fire.
“A joint investigation between the police and fire service is ongoing to find the cause of the fire.”
