Police are appealing for witnesses after one person died in crash in the Highlands.
The accident happened on the A87 Kyle to Invergarry road last night at 5.30pm.
One vehicle, containing four people, left the road around five miles south of the Bun Loyne junction with the A887 Invermoriston road.
Police said that one person died at the scene. A second suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
The other two occupants sustained minor injuries and were taken by road ambulance to Belford Hospital, Ft William.
Police have refused to confirm whether the victim was a man or a woman, stating that they are in the process of contacting next of kin.
The fire service said that their crews released an injured woman from the wreckage of the vehicle using cutting gear. It is understood that she is the casualty who was flown to Raigmore.
The road was closed for nearly seven hours while officers from the Road Policing Unit carried out their investigations.
Police have now issued an appeal for witnesses to the crash to contact them on 101.
It was the second serious crash on the A87 road within 24 hours.
On Friday evening, a woman was flown to Raigmore Hospital after a minibus overturned near the Cluanie Inn.
The road was closed for three hours after the accident at 4.30pm.
