Police in Inverness are advising the public to be aware of possible disruption tomorrow evening due to a large car cruise event in the city.
It will start at the Inverness Retail Park on Eastfield Way on Saturday night.
There may be some traffic congestion in the area and possible delays to those wishing to visit the Inverness Retail Park tomorrow evening.
Police are aware that the majority of those attending these types of events are law-abiding but for those who do choose to participate in anti-social behaviour, such as speeding, wheel-spinning, revving or creating a disturbance, this type of activity will not be tolerated.
A similar event at the same venue about a month ago led to around 200 vehicles turning up and 24 drivers being charged with various offences.
Drivers are warned that they could face court action or having their vehicle seized if they break the law.
As part of Operation Route there will be a highly visible police presence in and around the Inverness area and drivers are asked to ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and that license, tax and insurance documents are in order.
Moreover, drivers must watch their speed, not drive under the influence of drink or drugs and not to drive if disqualified.
The use of mobile phones whilst driving will also be clamped down on.
The owners of the retail park, which is private property, are aware of the event and will be providing extra security on the day.
