The Arnold Clark Group’s presence in Inverness is now up to a massive total of seven franchises on six sites.
They have just taken over Calterdon BMW and Mini on Harbour Road and already have Mercedes, Volvo, Skoda, Peugeot, Hyundai plus the Arnold Clark car and van rental site with a fleet of over 300 vehicles at the former Volvo dealership site.
Confusingly, Calterdon now has the name Harry Fairbairn above the showroom. This is because BMW as a prestige brand insist on a separate identity.
Arnold Clark BMW branches in Glasgow and Strathclyde area all bear the Harry Fairbairn name, following Arnold Clark’s buy out of the former family firm of Harry Fairbairn in Glasgow a few years back
It is thought that the existing BMW Inverness showroom will soon move to a new purpose built dealership at the former Clydesdale Bank site on Longman Road, with Mini moving into the existing BMW showroom.
