A four figure donation has been offered to a charity for information relating to a missing guide dog in Nairn.
Fraser Stevenson’s dog Tess has been missing since he gave her a free run in his home town on Wednesday, July 23.
And now the company Pets at Home has offered a £1,000 donation to charity Guide Dogs for the Blind to encourage people to share information which will help find Tess.
The firm’s commercial director Peter Pritchard: “When we heard that Tess was missing, we wanted to do something to help raise awareness of the search. By offering a reward donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind, we hope this will encourage anyone who thinks they’ve seen Tess to come forward and help reunite her with owner.”
Guide Dogs Scotland’s spokesman Niall Foley said: “We are very grateful to Pets at Home for offering the money in the form of a donation to Guide Dogs.
“Many other people continue to help us find Tess and we are grateful for all the support, and urge people to continue to share awareness of our find Tess appeal on social media and in their local community.
“We encourage anyone who thinks they may have seen Tess to call us on 0800 6888 409.”
Earlier this month, Mr Stevenson told the Press and Journal that he struggles to leave the house without the missing six-year-old, black curly-coated cross retriever.
She went missing after her 35-year-old owner let her off her lead for a run around near the Old Cemetery next to the River Nairn.
He said: “I am just feeling lonely and frustrated about the whole thing and guilty as well. Not knowing what has happened to her is what is most worrying.”
Mr Fraser suffers from the hereditary condition retinitis pigmentosa and has only a small amount of sight due to the affliction.
Tess was wearing a black collar, with a pattern of small grey and pink squares, when she went missing.
She also had a Guide Dogs identification tag attached to the collar.
