The accident happened on the A82 Inverness to Drumnadrochit road, near Lochend, at 12.40pm. Fire crews used cutting gear to to free one person from one of the vehicles. One person suffered spinal injuries in the crash, while three others were described as “walking wounded” by paramedics. An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We took four patients to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. We got the call at 12.40pm.” Two fire engines from Inverness, along with a heavy risk unit, also attended. A fire spokesman said: “There was one person trapped when we arrived, so crews worked to extricate them, and then we tidied up the scene.” One lane of the A82 remains blocked, a police spokesman said.
