A new patrol service has been set up to keep traffic flowing on three of the north’s busiest roads.
Bear Scotland have introduced a Trunk Road Incident Support Service (TRISS) vehicle to patrol the A9, A96 and A82 trunk roads around the Inverness area.
The system has been introduced successfully on a number of key routes across Scotland.
The TRISS team work to reduce congestion caused by incidents and breakdowns on busy routes by clearing up incident sites and carrying out essential repairs.
This allows the police to concentrate on other core activities.
Eddie Ross, Bear Scotland’s north west unit representative: said: “TRISS has been extremely successful in helping to keep traffic flowing across since they were introduced.”
Transport Minister Keith Brown said: “Disruption will be minimised and Highland businesses will benefit from the improvements to the operation of the trunk road network.”
