The 24-year-old’s body was found in a burn near Island Bank Road on Sunday evening after a search by police dog handlers. She was reported missing by her family when she failed to meet them that morning. Police are treating her death as unexplained and have appealing for sightings of her along the riverside in the early hours of Sunday. Her devastated family has now released details of an event to remember her. A celebration of Miss Hornby’s life will be held on Friday August 29 at the funeral home of John Fraser & Son, Chapel Street, Inverness, at 1.30pm. A private family burial will be held afterwards. Family flowers only are requested.
