The alarm was raised at 9.05am yesterday to Dochgarroch, five miles south of the city, on the A82 Inverness to Drumnadrochit road. There was no-one on board the vessel, which was on a pontoon by the River Ness, and firefighters gave the all-clear within 20 minutes.
