The footage from Barney’s newsagent, on Castle Street, shows a hooded man walking through along the counter of the shop and gesturing. He is understood to have threatened the shopkeeper and demanded money from the till during the incident on the evening of Saturday August 16. But the would-be robber was left empty-handed after the shopkeeper’s colleague came to help after hearing shouting. Police said that the man is wearing a black jacket, with the hood up, jeans and white trainers. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
