A four figure sum of money was stolen from Ladbrokes in Balloan Road, Hilton by a knife wielding armed robber on Monday, September 29. Police have confirmed that officers recovered a knife, motorcyle helmet and a bicycle close to where the robbery took place. Specialist officers are carrying out tests to confirm whether these items were used in the robbery. The suspect is believed to be in his early 20s, about 5ft 11in tall and of average build. He has distinctive heavy slanted eyebrows and was unshaven. He had a scarf or snood covering his mouth and nose, he was wearing black and yellow gloves, a grey blouson waterproof jacket, blue trousers. He was also wearing distinctive green high-top trainers, similar to those in pictures released by police.. A spokesman for the police said: “The investigation is ongoing at this time, which include forensic tests, door to door and CCTV enquiries. “
