Firefighters were called to The Auctioneers in Church Street after receiving a call about the blaze in the pub’s kitchen just after 4pm. The fire was extinguished by 4.20pm. Two crews from Inverness were called to tackle the incident. A fire service spokeswoman said the kitchen suffered smoke damage. Church Street and Union Street in Inverness were both briefly closed to traffic while firefighters tackled the fire. A spokeswoman for the police said nobody was injured and an investigation would be carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
