Forecasters are warning that there will be more heavy rain in the north today.
And the Met Office’s amber warning for Lochaber and the Great Glen has been extended into tomorrow.
Significant volumes of rain have fallen in the west since Friday.
Met Office forecaster, Kirk Waite, said that in the 24 hours until 2pm yesterday, about three inches had fallen at the Cluanie Inn, while nearly four inches fell at Kinlochewe.
He said that another four inches could be expected during the next two days.
He said: “There has been quite high rainfall already and it has had an impact in terms of the A82 road closure.
“But there will also be strong winds which will add to the situation, up to 50mph-60mph.”
He added that the weather front would eventually move in a south-easterly direction later in the week.
