A bride-to-be had a dramatic journey to the aisle after the closure of the A82 Fort William-Glasgow road left her stranded miles from her wedding venue.
Nikki Jasiczak was due to marry fiance Dan Cole at the Ballachulish Hotel yesterday afternoon.
But yesterday morning she and her bridal party were left in Fort William.
The nine-strong group, including her bridesmaids and family members, drove around Loch Linnhe to Ardgour to catch the famous Corran Ferry.
But the vessel was not operating.
Luckily, a plea from hotel staff to local boat operator Ryan Tozer, of iPowerboat, saved the big day.
Mr Tozer told the Press and Journal that he took the bridal party from Ardgour direct to the hotel pier by motorcruiser.
The group had been due to disembark at the Corran Ferry but conditions were too difficult to land at the slipway.
The hotel’s chef also hitched a ride.
Mr Tozer added that while conditions were not the worst he had seen, it was a “safe but uncomfortable trip” for some.
He said: “I don’t think they had experienced that before. But we got them there safe and sound.”
A member of staff at the hotel confirmed that the ceremony had gone ahead later in the afternoon.
