Former members of Inverness Royal Academy’s Outdoor Club have been invited back for a reunion.
Throughout the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, they embarked on a series of expeditions all over the Highlands.
Ramblers, climbers, abseilers, as well as plain old hillwalkers embraced the school motto, Labore et virtute.
Their jaunts became the stuff of legend, which successive groups of pupils have tried to emulate.
This includes the present day incumbents, who have participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Their leader, physics teacher Scott Henderson, said: “We have been really lucky to pick up where the former Outdoor Club left off after several decades of expeditions.
“Here at the school, we have an excellent archive of such documents; and we are really looking forward to some former pupils sharing, admiring and celebrating this extraordinary outdoor heritage.”
The evening of reminiscing takes place on Tuesday, between 7pm and 9pm, contact the school for more details.
