Highland charities are hoping to raise thousands of pounds as a popular Christmas card stall returns to Inverness this month.
A total of thirteen charities will run The United Highland Charities Christmas Card Stall in the city’s Eastgate Centre.
It will run for two weeks from next Monday until Sunday, November 23 and the good causes involved will be hoping to surpass last year’s cash windfall of £18,000.
Peter Logie, area fundraising manager for CLIC Sargent, said: “The stall is incredibly well supported by the customers, management and staff of Eastgate Centre.
“We all thoroughly enjoy this annual event and entering into the festive spirit in the city centre. We have a great bunch of volunteers who turn out to be ‘shopkeepers’ for the day.”
The stall will be open from 10am to 4pm each day, with an extension to 7pm on Thursday November 13 and 20.
The charities involved include Blythswood Care, British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, Children 1st, Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, CLIC Sargent, Highland Hospice, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Maggies Highland, CHAS, Poppyscotland, Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Highland Community Care Forum.
This week, Inverness and North Kessock RNLI are also holding their annual stall in the Eastgate Centre.
Lifeboat Christmas cards will be on sale along with diaries, calendars, gifts and stocking fillers with a nautical flavour and suitable for all ages.
The stall is run by the volunteers themselves and will be there until Sunday, opening daily from 9.30am to 5pm. All proceeds will go to the RNLI.
