A man who was killed when his car collided with a lorry in a lay-by on the A9 Inverness-Perth road has been named by police.
John Trimble, of Cumbernauld, died at the scene of the accident near Ballinluig on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said his family were devastated by their “sudden loss” and that the 53-year-old would be “greatly missed”.
“Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Division on 101,” she said.
It was the first serious accident to happen on the A9 since the average speed cameras were switched on last week.
They are aimed at cutting the death toll on the road, which is notorious for its high number of serious accidents.
