He was treated by paramedics outside of the two-storey, semi-detached property on Chattan Drive before being taken to Raigmore Hospital. Two appliances from Nairn and one from Inverness were called to the house after the 999 call at 1.35pm. Fire crews spent two hours battling the blaze. A fire service spokeswoman said: “The fire damage was confined to the kitchen and there is smoke damage throughout the property.”
