Pupils of a Highland school hope their own version of inflation will raise funds at their annual festive fair event.
Kirkhill Primary classes have been furiously blowing up balloons this week in preparation for lift-off of the annual fundraising appeal which runs in tandem with the fair.
After the pupils caught their breath, the balloons were crammed into a car, which has been donated by an Inverness dealership, to provide a unique money-making opportunity for the school.
Children have sold tickets to their families and the local community, with people given the chance to guess how many balloons are in the car.
Dicksons of Inverness have loaned the silver Kia car for the event, with salesman Frazer Cameron making the special delivery yesterday.
His son Jack, aged five, was joined by fellow-pupils Cameron O’Toole, aged six, and seven-year-old Emily Weir, as the blow-up operation got underway.
As well as the car, Dicksons have donated the prize, a Kindle box, although the main aim of the exercise is to raise as much as possible.
The number of balloons will be revealed at the school fair, which takes place on November 29, between 11am and 5pm.
Head teacher Christine Ford, said: “We are delighted with the loan of a car from Dicksons, and looking forward to the fair, which is always well attended.
“The children have been busy preparing, and will be involved on the day with enterprise groups, while local traders are also supportive.
“Every penny raised will purchase school equipment, and with the help of our parents, and of course Santa, we are hoping the day will be a success.”
