Alistair Wilson’s family fear killer could strike again

Alistair Wilson

The family of murdered Alistair Wilson said yesterday that they fear his killer could strike again.

In a statement issued through police, Mr Wilson’s widow Veronica, his parents Alan and Joan and his sister Jillian said they had not been able to “achieve closure” since the murder in 2004.

They said: “The past 10 years, since Alistair’s murder have been extremely tough for our family.

“It’s been 10 years, during which his young sons started primary school and then secondary school without a father in their lives.

“It’s been 10 years that his widow, Veronica, has been a single mother and the extended family left without the person we loved and cherished.

“It is difficult to achieve closure of our grief until we know why Alistair was killed on November 28, 2004, and who shot him.

“Despite years of searching for answers, the question which always remains is: ‘Why?’

“We are confident that someone, somewhere knows the identity of Alistair’s killer, a man who is still at large.

“He has killed once. He may kill again and cause another family the heartbreak we have endured.

“If anyone has any information, however small they might think it is, we urge them to come forward and contact their local police or alternatively to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
