This young seal is now recovering at n animal rescue centre after being found on a beach on the Black Isle. The five-week-old pup was weak and dehydrated when it was discovered on Rosemarkie Beach. It is now being cared for by the Scottish SPCA at their facilities in Clackmannanshire. Animal Rescue Officer Clare Anderson said: “Rose, as we named her, was in a bad way when we found her. “As well as being weak and dehydrated, she was very underweight and had an injury to her tail fin. “My colleague Andy Brown and I carried Rose for a mile and half back to our van and took her a vets for the treatment she urgently needed. “Her injuries were cleaned and she was given antibiotics and a solution to rehydrate her. “Rose is now in the care of our National Wildlife Rescue Centre in Clackmannanshire and is doing well. “Our wildlife team will look after her until she gains weight and is fit and healthy enough to be returned to sea.” Anyone who discovers an injured or distressed wild animal should call the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
