A shopping fair in Inverness this weekend is forecast to attract more than 10,000 people on a single day to Eden Court.
The art, craft and food fair is organised by Black Isle based Exclusively Highlands over three days, from Friday to Sunday.
A similar fair held just a couple of weeks ago itself broke all previous records when over 6000 people attended on the Saturday alone.
It is anticipated that this Saturday will see that figure broken as part of the festive rush
Isabel Stewart who founded Exclusively Highlands 10 years ago said :”This year has already broken all records both with record numbers of visitors at our fairs around Scotland as well as the number of exhibitors.
“To have well in excess of 6000 in a single day surpassed even my expectations and the reaction of exhibitors was overwhelmingly positive.”
Fiona Logue, director, Craft Scotland, Creative Scotland’s specialist body set up to champion the craft industry is impressed with anticipated visitor numbers.
She said “It is truly encouraging to see the large numbers of people who appreciate that a locally handmade gift is something to be greatly valued. Scotland has a richness of talented, creative people producing a wide variety of work that can be enjoyed by all.”
