Several Inverness roads and the Infirmary Bridge will be closed for the city’s Race for Life 5K and 1OK events from 8am to 1.30pm on Sunday, May 29.
Infirmary Bridge will be closed between the point where it meets Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road and the point where it meets Ness Walk Upper.
The roads affected will be:
- Bught Road between its junction with Bught Avenue and its junction with Ness Walk Upper.
- Ness Walk Upper between its junction with Bught Road and its junction with Ballifeary Lane.
- Ness Walk Upper between its junction with Ballifeary Lane and its junction with Bishop’s Road.
- Ardross Terrace between its junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Ardross Street.
- Ness Walk closed between its junction with Young Street (forming part of the Inverness – Leys – lnverarnie Road) and its junction with Ardross Terrace.
- Castle Road (forming part of the Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road) between its junction with Haugh Road and its junction with Bridge Street.
- Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road closed to through traffic between its junction with Castle Road and its junction with Island Bank Road.
The following will be exempt from the road closures:
- Emergency services’ vehicles being used in an emergency for ambulance, coastguard, fire or police purposes.
- Vehicles associated with the Race for Life 5K and 10K events, and employed to ensure the safety of the event participants.
- Pedestrians.
- Vehicles driven under escort by or anything done under the direction of, or with the permission of, a uniformed police officer.
