Police have confirmed that the pedestrian who was killed in a crash in Inverness yesterday morning was a 50-year-old local man.
The accident involving a Northern Recycling lorry happened near the Town House on Bridge Street at 7.35am.
And police are appealing for information about the incident.
They are investigating reports that the man stepped out onto the road and was hit by the lorry, which was travelling along Bridge Street towards High Street.
A police spokesman said: “Next of kin are still being informed and full details will be released in due course.”
