A woman appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday and admitted dropping a baby boy on his head after she had been drinking.
In the charge it states that she picked the infant up by the ankles before he fell and suffered a severe injury.
Rachel McIntyre, 38, c/o 14 Edgeview Park, Balloch had sentence deferred until February 10 for a background report.
McIntyre admitted that on June 16 last year, she wilfully ill-treated the child while under the influence of alcohol in Lawers Way, by holding him by the ankles over her shoulders whereby he fell to the pavement.
McIntyre had her bail continued.
