An Inverness beauty spot is still closed nearly two weeks after it was shut due to storm damage.
Highland Council say the Ness Islands have been closed for safety reasons, with parts of the islands still affected by flooding and fallen trees.
The islands sit in the River Ness and are a popular spot for walkers and an important pedestrian crossing in the west end of the city.
They have been closed since January 9 when high winds and heavy rain submerged paths and left debris lying around the area.
A Highland Council spokeswoman said: “Ness Islands remains closed for public safety due to recent storm damage.
“Parts of the islands are still affected by flooding and there are fallen and dangerous trees with broken branches.
“We appreciate that the islands area is very popular and apologise for any inconvenience. We hope to get staff on site to deal with the wind damaged trees as soon as it is safe for them to access the site.
“In the meantime we would ask people to use the Infirmary Bridge while the Ness Islands are closed.”
The islands were last closed in October after flooding caused a Halloween celebration event to be postponed until the end of November.
