A man is on trial accused of raping a toddler at an Inverness-shire nursery.
Mark Maclennan, 30, denies raping the boy at the nursery, which cannot be identified for legal reasons, between August 1, 2012, and May 23, 2013, when the child was aged between two and three.
Maclennan, of Bath, England, is also accused of sexually abusing a girl at the nursery between August 1, 2012, and May 23, 2013, by touching her private parts over her clothing.
At the time of the alleged offence the girl was aged between four and five.
He is also alleged to have sexually abused a three-year-old boy in the nursery between March 2 and May 23, 2013.
Maclennan is also accused of having in his possession indecent photographs of children at the nursery and at an address in Stirling between February 2009 and May 2013, and taking or permitting to be taken indecent photographs of children between February 22 and March 28, 2009.
He is also charged with sexually assaulting a girl from the age of 12 to 15 on various occasions between October 2007 and July 2010 at the MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling, and addresses in Dunblane and Dunfermline.
Maclennan, who is represented by defence counsel Donald Findlay, QC, denies all the charges against him.
The trial started yesterday at the High Court in Glasgow, but no evidence was led.
Advocate depute Kath Harper, prosecuting, read out a joint minute of agreement. This stated that photographs which will feature in the trial were taken at the nursery and that three DVDs listed as productions involve interviews with the three nursery children.
Judge John Morris QC told the jury of nine women and six men: “We will start the evidence properly at the start of next week.”
The trial continues.
