Ferries have been cancelled and driving in the north has been difficult due to blizzards. The A9 Inverness-Perth road at Drumochter and the A86 Laggan-Newtonmore road are affected by drifting snow. The A82 was blocked at Urquhart Castle after a landslide however the road has now reopened. Meanwhile Northlink Ferries has announced that its 4.45pm sailing from Stromness and return leg from Scrabster are cancelled due to the swell. The next scheduled sailing is 9am tomorrow from Stromness. Calmac has also added the Barra-Eriskay service and Tayinloan-Gigha to its list of cancellations. Many other services are on amber alert.
