Jon and Victoria Erasmus, who own the Glen Mhor Hotel, hope to start building the ambitious centre next year. It will be situated on a gap site between 8 and 10 Ness Bank, overlooking the River Ness. Artist’s impressions of the brewery show a large glass fronted building which stretches from Ness Bank to Haugh Road. The development also signifies the return of brewing to the Haugh area, where the activity took place in the 1700s. Mr and Mrs Erasmus said that using Germany brewing technology and the “best Scottish ingredients, we believe we can brew world class Highland beers”. It is also planned that the brewery and visitor centre will house a gallery for local art and products.
