Scotland’s foremost fiddle player John McCusker will be taking to the stage in Inverness.
The gig is part of his 30-year anniversary tour, which was delayed due to the pandemic.
He will perform at Eden Court Theatre on Tuesday, November 8.
As well as The John McCusker Band, performances will also be heard from Ian Carr, Sam Kelly, Helen McCabe and Toby Shaer.
Inverness will be the only show in the Highlands, but there will be 18 performances across the UK.
The tour will also mark the release of the “Best of” album and a new book – John McCusker: The Collection.
‘Delighted to celebrate 30 years’
Mr McCusker said: “I’m delighted to be able to bring this special show to Inverness and celebrate 30 years as a professional musician.
“I’m looking forward to performing the highlights from my back catalogue and revisiting memories associated with those tracks.
“I’ve never had a plan, good things have just happened and, so far, it’s worked out as well as I could possibly have dreamed of.”
A traditional musical career
Born in Bellshill, near Glasgow, Mr McCusker began playing the fiddle and whistle at a young age, under the influence of his Irish mother and her record collection.
He spent 11 years from the age of 17 with Scottish folk institution the Battlefield Band.
Dubbed a “musician’s musician” by trad music legend Phil Cunningham, John is also a longstanding member of the annual Transatlantic Sessions house band.
He has also won numerous awards for his services to folk music and Scottish culture.
Previously he has played venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London.
