Two women have been taken to hospital following a crash involving two vans and a car on the A96 Nairn road near Inverness.
Emergency services were called to the incident near Allanfearn on the Aberdeen to Inverness road just before 6pm on Wednesday evening.
The fire service sent four appliances – three from Inverness and one from Nairn – as well as a heavy rescue unit to the scene, but left just after 6pm after making the scene safe.
The road was closed for about one hour as crews worked at the scene.
Police said two women were taken to hospital as a precaution and that recovery for the vehicles was arranged.
A police spokeswoman said: “Around 5.40pm on Wednesday November 9, officers were called to a report of a three-vehicle crash on the A96 near Allanfearn.
“Emergency services attended and two women were taken to hospital as a precaution.
“Recovery was arranged and the road was fully reopened around 6.40pm.”
Traffic was busy in the area following the incident but has since returned to normal.
