Judy Murray – mother of Scottish tennis star Andy – will be serving up free tennis lessons in Inverness next week.
National sports charity Tennis For Free teamed up with local professional tennis coach, Mike Martin and High Life Highland last year to create a programme of free family lessons at Bellfield Park on Sunday March 15.
The GB Federation Cup Captain and Strictly Come Dancing star will be taking the classes between 10am and 12pm at the city park’s courts.
Everything – including rackets and tennis balls – will be provided for free during the lessons.
Mr Martin said: “We are giving the people of Inverness and the Highlands tennis for free and it doesn’t matter if you are an absolute beginner, you played at school and haven’t picked up a racket in twenty years or you haven’t been able to play on a regular basis and develop your skills. Our Tennis For Free sessions are all about fun and enjoyment for all the family and not about coaching the perfect forehand. Bellfield Park is the ultimate family area, set in beautiful surroundings, award-winning gardens, modern play park, green gym and of course the Deuce Point cafe and you couldn’t ask for a more perfect place to start your free tennis journey. ”
