Shock at death of Highland beauty queen Sarah Macrae

Highland beauty queen Sarah Macrae has died at her home in Muir of Ord aged just 45.

Crowned Miss Scotland in 1993, Sarah went on to represent the country at Miss Worlds and was a well known face across the Highlands.

Friends have spoken of their shock at her death saying ‘Sarah was far too young to die’.

Neighbours said she had been ill for some time prior to her death. Sarah’s funeral is planned for Thursday.
