Five candidates will contest a by-election for a vacant seat on Highland Council – on the day of the General Election.
They are Ritchie Cunningham (Liberal Democrat), Stephen Fuller (SNP), Chris Johnson (Labour), Mairi MacGregor (no party affiliation declared) and Paul McIvor (Independent).
SNP member Colin Macaulay stood down recently due to ill health.
The ward’s other councillors are Laurie Fraser (Ind), Michael Green (Ind) and Liz MacDonald (SNP).
Polling will take place between 7am and 10pm on May 7.
The by-election vote will be through the single transferable vote system. Instead of using a cross, voters must number candidates in their preferred order, marking as many candidates as they wish.
The council is made up of 80 elected members. The current political representation is Independent 34, SNP 20, Lib Dem 12, Labour 8 and Highland Alliance five.
