Fire crews were called to Inverness airport this morning as a freight plane travelling to Storanaway had to turn around while in flight due to a technical issue.
Fire chiefs sent two appliances to the airport after receiving the call at around 6.40 am.
Police were also in attendance at the incident.
The plane landed safely and emergency services were not required.
A spokeswoman for the airport said: “All I can say is that there was an incident involving a plane carrying freight from Inverness to Stornaway.
