The industrial dispute that hit north airports may have been resolved, preventing further strike action.
Following a meeting today between representatives of Highlands adn Islands Airport Ltd and the trade union Prospect, an offer was put to the union and agreement was reached in principle to resolve the dispute concerning airport security staff.
This offer will now be the subject of a ballot of security staff.
Inglis Lyon, Hial managing director said: “A revised offer was made to Prospect today which we understand will be the subject of a consultative ballot.
“Both parties have compromised and in so doing have secured some long term stability for the business. We are pleased at the progress we have made and believe that the agreement reached today delivers a balanced package of improvements to pay and conditions for security staff.”
The peace deal proposal comes following a 48 hour walkout by security staff earlier this month.
