Two Scottish Premiership clashes in the north has brought traffic in the Highland capital to a standstill.
A police spokeswoman said there are “major traffic delays” in Inverness as a result of the games between Aberdeen FC and Caley Thistle at the Caledonian Stadium and Ross County and Partick Thistle in Dingwall.
She called on drivers to avoid the city centre just now and between 5pm and 6pm after the games come to an end.
She added: “Drivers are asked to be patient at this time and also later this afternoon when the football games finish and attendees disperse from the grounds between 4:45pm and 5:45pm.
“Anyone not travelling to and from the football matches may wish to consider the timing of their journeys to avoid congestion.”
