A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being left with multiple injuries during disturbance yesterday in Invergordon.
It is understood that the man, who is in his 40s, was allegedly stabbed during the incident at a property on High Street.
A major police investigation was launched in the town yesterday afternoon and officers remained on scene throughout the night.
A blue tent was erected over the pavement outside the front door of a flat in the town.
A police spokesman said: “Police in Ross-shire are currently investigating a reported disturbance which is believed to have occurred at a property on High Street, Invergordon, on Tuesday May 5.
“Police were alerted to a man in his 40s having been conveyed to Raigmore Hospital with multiple injuries. The man’s condition is described as serious but stable.
“Inquiries are ongoing at this time to establish the circumstances of the incident. Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to make contact on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
