The fatal accident happened on the B9039 Ardersier-Dalcross road, close to Connage at around 8.10am this morning. The collision involved a Citroen and a Honda CRV. Two crews of firefighters from the Highland capital, along with a heavy rescue unit attended. They used hydraulic cutting gear to release people from both vehicles. A man and a woman were taken to Raigmore Hospital by ambulance with multiple injuries however there is no information on their condition. The road remains closed to traffic as police continue their investigations. Any witnesses who have not already spoken to police should contact officers on 101.
