A burst hot water tank has caused a number of appointments to be cancelled at Raigmore Hospital.
Ear, nose and throat (ENT) patients at the Inverness hospital will have to be rescheduled after the laboratory block was flooded.
Firefighters were called to stem the flow of water from the damaged tank.
Both floors of labs in the building, as well as the ground floor which houses the hospital’s ENT unit were all affected by the problems.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.40pm.
A spokeswoman for NHS Highland said: “There has been a flood on the roof from the water tank that supplies hot water to the laboratory block.
“The fire brigade were in attendance.
“Both floors of labs and the ground floor are affected. Business continuity plans have been implemented.
“There is significant impact to the ground floor and as a result a number of ENT appointments will require to be rescheduled.
“Emergency activity has been relocated and will go ahead.
“There is no impact on urgent lab work and all other services in the hospital will continue as normal.”
A fire service spokeswoman confirmed that two fire appliances from Inverness, as well as a specialist environmental unit had attended at the hospital.
She added: “Firefighters helped to stem the flow of water from the tank.
“They also helped to mop up afterwards.”
