Murdo MacAskill was last seen disembarking from the ferry at Ullapool at about 4.45pm last Tuesday, after travelling from a Stornoway. Police say there has been no sighting of the 54-year-old since and he has not been in touch with any known friends or family. Stornoway officers are conducting enquiries to see if he may be in London, where he has spent time in the past. Mr MacAskill is described as being white, 5ft 9in tall and slim with short brown hair. When last seen he was wearing trousers or jeans, a dark jacket and was carrying a backpack. He speaks with a West of Scotland accent. Inspector Roddy MacKay said: “It has been five days since Murdo was last seen and he did not alert anyone as to what his travel plans were. “As such, we are keen to establish his whereabouts as soon as possible and ensure he is safe. “Anyone who has information that can assist officers with their inquiries is asked to contact us immediately.”
